Uttarakhand is a state of North India and a state of many pilgrimages and hill station area for tourists. There are a lot of destinations where many travelers leisure their weekends in both season winter and summer. Not just because of hill station but it is a place of peace and natural beauty of surrounding with holy places. Haridwar, Rishikesh, Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath are such scared place where everyone Hindus wants to visit.
Uttarakhand is earlier known as Uttaranchal Pradesh and it was a part of Uttar Pradesh, India. On 9 November 2000, it was established a new state of North India and the 27th state of the Republic of India. It contains 13 districts and closed by Himalayan. Districts are divided into two divisions, Kumaon and Garhwal. Almora, Bageshwar, Champawat, Nainital, Pithoragarh, and Udham Singh Nagar come in the Kumaon region where Chamoli, Dehradun, Pauri, Haridwar, Tehri, and Uttarkashi come in Garhwal region. Nityanand Swami was the first Chief Minister of Uttarakhand (Uttaranchal) and he served as CM from 9 November 2000 to 29 October 2001. Uttarakhand is also known as Dev Bhoomi means Lands of Gods. There are many Hindu religious temples and pilgrimages' sites. Dehradun is the capital of Uttarakhand. All places of Uttarakhand are very famous in view of tourism.
Haridwar is the largest populated district of Uttarakhand i.e. 1,890,422 population according to the 2011 Census. Where Rudraprayag is the lowest populated district in Uttarakhand state i.e. 242,285.
