Lord Shani Dev has a gold crown on his head, a garland around his neck, a bow, arrow, trident in his hands, and blue clothes on his body. He rides the vulture bird. Yamuna is the sister of God Shani Dev. Yamuna River is named after her Yamuna ji's temple is situated in Yamunotri which is the first temple in Chote Char Dham Yatra of Uttarakhand.

Sri Shanimahathma Temple is dedicated to God Shani and it is located at Chikka Madhure in Kanaswadi. It is 14 km from Nelmangla and 45 km from Bangalore. This temple was built in the South Indian style of architecture. It is said that this Shani Dev temple was built by a Ganga Hanumaiya farmer.
