Uttarkashi is a district and religious place for spiritual tourism in Uttarakhand. Two important Hindu shrines Yamunotri and Gangotri are located in Uttarkashi. Uttarkashi is situated on the banks of river Bhagirathi at an altitude of 1158 meters above sea level. The famous Vishwanath Temple is located in Uttarkashi.
