It is said that when Lord Shiva came to Haridwar to marry Sati, he stayed at this place along with his devotees, gods, and ghosts.This Shiva temple is located near Swargashram behind Parmarth Niketan Ashram in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand. Bhoothnath temple has many floors. Raja Ji National Park: This temple surrounded by forest has a total of 7 floors. From its upper floor you can see a panoramic view of the hills of Rishikesh. You can see Neelkanth Mahadev hill and also the view of the holy river Ganges in Rishikesh.
This is how people know by the name of ghost that the mystery of this temple is linked to some ghost. When Bholenath Shivji was about to come to King Prajapati's house in Kankhal with his procession from Mount Kailash. Shivji was married to Sati and Bhole Baba ji, Bhoot and Preth were also present along with the gods. Then he thought that if the ghost accompanied him to the Kankhal marriage venue then everyone would get scared. So they stopped the ghosts in its place. Here the procession of ghosts was organized at the place of this temple on Manikut mountain.
